SHAPING THE FUTURE OF THE NATION

The minds of children are imprinted with what they experience and learn in their formative years. They then spend the majority of their life carrying what they dream of and are taught at a young age. Their aspirations are moulded based of something or someone that has impressed and impacted their perspectives in their childhood. The children will preach what they will learn, to change society.

 

 

Everyone recognizes that the children and the youth of today will become the leaders of tomorrow. Youth development experts agree that children need a variety of experiences in their lives to help them grow into healthy adolescents and adults. We, as the influencers of such tender minds have the incredible opportunity to impress upon the children and the youth the infinite opportunities that await them in the world, which they can gran and succeed at. However, the most important matter is about doing this successfully, without pushing them too hard, yet tweaking their curiosity and interest. This way we can manoeuvre them in the right direction with the right guidance at the right time and watch them reach the peak of their true potential.

Rajpath Infracon conducts such activities in the town of Deolali Pravara, in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, India. This was a small village then, where the Chairman and Managing Director of Rajpath Infracon, Mr. Jagdish Kadam lived and was brought up and schooled. The Kadam family hence believe they owe a lot to this village and have taken up conduction of such activities especially for the children and teenagers of this town, on a regular basis. The idea is to expose this generation to the myriad of opportunities so that this formative generation has options to explore- something that was not available to Mr. Jagdish kadam in a remote village as he passed out of school, many years back. It is his humble way of giving a helping hand to enterprising and aspiring students in this community.

 

 

Camps and seminars have been held on subjects like

 

Aeromodelling – Participant children make their own models and flying it gives them a much bigger sense of achievement compared to buying a model off the shelf. Even though Aeromodelling is a subject that generates interest in related topics like Aerospace/ Aeronautical Engineering, as well as a lot of interdisciplinary concepts like Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science. Developing an interest in such engineering skills through aeromodelling provides a great start and substrate for young minds to soar their imagination, dreams, aspirations and also provides a great opportunity for getting their minds ready for experimentation and innovation.

 

Origami- Origami is not only a fun-filled activity but is also beneficial to the overall development of people of all ages, more so in the formative years. The ability to skilfully move one’s fingers to create detailed objects is important for a child’s development. Children who are good with their fingers tend to be good at sports and can develop imaginary and innovative minds. Origami requires children to figure out how to reach the final product, which encourages them to use their imagination. This helps improve concentration. It also requires us to fold various sides of the paper at once, which helps children study math and develop deductive powers. Using a high level of concentration to fold various sides of the paper also improves spatial awareness.

 

In today's pressure-oriented society, activities like Aeromodelling and Origami provide a non-threatening environment for the children to be active, to develop competence in life skills, to learn about and enhance their own abilities and to benefit from meaningful participation in such camp and activities designed just for them. We have seen the participants gaining self-confidence as they learn new skills and going back with a sense of supreme achievement after experiencing and learning a new skill. Such Camps and activities organised by Rajpath Infracon, attract a overwhelming response and become places where children develop a variety of social skills like communication and conflict resolution ability as well. They attain a new confidence of having used their imagination and successfully executing it. With such activities Rajpath Infracon inches its was towards shaping the future of our Nation.
