The Story Of Human Connect - Breaking the genderbias
The spirit mostly stays on social media when the season arrives, but seldom percolates and becomes an inherent homogeneous part of the work culture. The theme and the captions are forgotten, and the work culture comes back to square one. No late hours at office, no scope to express opinions, no inclusion in the decision making or no opportunity to travel to site for implementation and project work.
But here is a true story that breaks the glass ceiling, a story that is not exemplary because it is about this one project. At Rajpath Infracon, working neck to neck and receiving an acceptance and inclusion based on the role and responsibilities defines a lady colleague. The challenge to achieve the new title of the prestigious Guinness World record was never going to be an easy task. With many facets and aspects, every field needed the best of the best personnel to bag this title. There was MIS & planning, engineering drawings, legal, administration, finance, strategy, marketing & media as well as PR to departments with prospects.
The women in all these various departments at Rajpath Infracon were given an equal opportunity, 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐢𝐚𝘀, to participate, contribute and make a positive difference to the outcome that we have seen today at site on highway no. 6, when the world history of road construction was scripted.
As Rajpath Infracon marched ahead with 27.04 kms. of bituminous concrete continuously paved till 6.00 pm today, the value of this contribution speaks of its worth. The ladies have worked neck-to-neck with their male counterparts, deliberating, gathering data, updating the 24 hour monitoring software. They have withstood the 47 deg C temperature, happily eaten the basic meals at the camp site, walked on the hot bituminous concrete and climbed the paver to experience what it is like to work in arduous and tough working environments. All this has been for over 5 days in a row, with 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 , 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬.
